We congratulate all the award winners of the National Association of Women in Construction SA Awards last night. Associate Esther Chew was awarded the Starfish Developments Project Innovation and Development Award, which recognises women who play a significant role in achieving major milestones for the development of projects whilst also applying innovation.
Esther is a champion for innovation through collaborative design processes. She seeks to integrate a diverse range of expertise in her projects, including historians, anthropologists, artists, writers, event managers, branding consultants and others. She also advocates for active participation of her clients, stakeholders and end user groups. For her, this facilitates placemaking from the outset, and creates a strong narrative and deeper relevance to the community. She believes it makes architecture more memorable and the practice of architecture a pleasure.
