Grieve Gillett Andersen are well known for the inclusive and collaborative processes we employ. We have successfully delivered projects over many years that act as catalysts for community and culture, promoting participation and ownership, and providing a meaningful sense of place.

 

Working closely with government agencies, community groups, schools, universities and cultural organisations has equipped us with excellent skills in consultation, stakeholder engagement and placemaking that can be applied across all types of projects. Community and stakeholder engagement in the design process results in developing projects with strong community and stakeholder ownership.

We believe effective engagement enables all project stakeholders to have a good understanding of problems, alternative solutions, associated costs, risks and benefits. The result is a project that benefits from the broader communal input, an enhanced stakeholder understanding, a collaborative project culture and an enriched project outcome. 

Our people have the skills and can assist in designing community engagement processes utilising of a variety of techniques that are innovative, fun and interactive and are tailored to the target audience, so that the right information is gathered and that we design places that reflect both the objectives of the project, as well as what is learnt through the engagement process. 

“We enjoyed working with GGA on the Middleback Arts Centre Master Plan project because at every step of the way they understood our philosophy of working with community, of deep consultation and authentic conversations with a broad range of stakeholders, including First Nations, artists and arts lovers, and governments at all levels. This has resulted in a strong new plan for the Middleback Arts Centre.  The architect’s commitment to detail and to undertaking additional elements to the project, including the creation of a video fly-through in house evidences their experience in all stages of delivery.

 

Off the back of that successful endeavour, we have engaged GGA to undertake a similar process for the remaining three regional arts centres and to commission a specific project to upgrade an arts residency space in Mount Gambier.
