Dimitty Andersen became a Director of Grieve Gillett Andersen in 2015 after fifteen years of running a successful boutique architectural practice. Dimitty brought with her an established body of work which has been nationally recognised through awards and publications.
Dimitty is experienced in urban design and master planning. She has been a panel member of the Design Review Panel for the South Australian Government’s Integrated Design Commission since its inception in 2009. Dimitty has extensive experience in design and delivery of public, commercial, and
residential architecture and in Strategic Facility Planning.
Many of her projects involve contemporary insertions and additions to heritage fabric and she is skilled in creation of modern forms that relate spatially and contextually to much older building fabric.
Dimitty has gained a national reputation for Residential Architecture and her work has been featured in numerous books and publications. Dimitty has over 10 years of experience as a tutor and lecturer at The University of Adelaide and The University of South Australia.
Quite remarkably, Dimitty has juggled having three children throughout the evolution of her practice, which has enabled her to develop an appreciation of the demands put on family homes. This skill has translated seamlessly through her acclaimed residential work and the practice has grown over the years to accommodate growing demand for her services.
