The new Student Hub was identified in the Flinders University Strategic Plan 2012 - 2016 and became a priority project for the University and Vice Chancellor to create a centre point for student interaction and the provision of services.
In April 2013, Grieve Gillett Andersen (GGA) was engaged to undertake the concept development in conjunction with the Flinders University Building & Property Division.
Grieve Gillett Andersen completed a feasibility study and subsequent concept design for the development of a Student Hub at Flinders University working with various consultants/stakeholders to formulate a brief for the prospective project and examine the existing risks and opportunities presented on the campus.
The project spanned 8 months and was presented as an extensive report which included proposed designs, design guidelines, spatial planning, construction sequencing and animated fly-throughs used as part of the approval and funding process.
