Melanie has significant experience in all facets of design, documentation and construction, gained across a wide variety of educational, health, correctional, residential, and small to medium sized commercial and institutional projects.
Melanie was appointed as an Associate in 2018 and is leading health projects and early childhood education at Grieve Gillett Andersen.
Melanie has excellent time management skills, which she is able to apply to all aspects of a project from its initial inception through to project completion. She is skilled in developing and refining a project brief to meet budgetary considerations and user requirements.
Through a wide range of projects, Melanie has gained significant experience in working with a variety of consultants, contractors and client groups, liaising and ensuring that clear communication and an understanding of roles and outcomes is achieved. Understanding the importance of collaboration leads to successful projects which meet, and frequently exceed client needs and expectations.
Since joining Grieve Gillett Andersen in 2009, Melanie has been the Senior Architect leading the UniSA City West Child Care Centre and External Works to Plaza and Laneways in the City East Campus, Mimili Preschool, BER schools projects, including Ceduna Area School, the APY Lands Wellbeing Centres, the Riverland Oral Health Centre, a number of other child care projects and various school dental clinics.
Recently Melanie has played an integral part in a variety of prison based projects and also modular/transportable based building deliveries. She has extensive experience in a variety of educational environments, particularly preschool and childcare facilities both in South Australia and in the Northern Territory.
