The Pot

The Pot is the hip and stylish reincarnation of Adelaide’s well regarded fine dining restaurant The Melting Pot.

The restaurant owner approached Grieve Gillett Architects looking for a fitout to support a new menu of smaller tapas or meze style dishes and a less structured more casual dining experience. Discussion with the client distilled the design ambitions to evoke the exotic, intimate but lively atmosphere encountered in a small marketplace eatery or Middle Eastern souk. A long bench seat with loose cushions, a butcher paper menu and candle lighting create an exotic ambience.

During the design phase Grieve Gillett Architects worked with the client conceiving a feature wall of brown packaging paper derived from the travel postcard walls in small market eateries and restaurants providing texture and colour with an opportunity for personalisation of the space.
